ROCHESTER - Josephine Jacobs, 86, died Nov. 28, 2022, following a period of illness at a health care facility in Dover.

She was born Jan. 7, 1936, in West Lebanon, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Edna Currier. Josephine graduated from Nute High School in 1954. Later she attended Gorham State College and graduated in 1958 with her degree in teaching.

Josephine married her lifelong love Harold Jacobs in 1957.

They took over the family farm in Rochester where they raised and sold dairy cows to local farms.

Josephine was kind to all who knew her and had a passion for taking care of stray cats that came to the farm through the years.

Church was an important part of her life. She served as a youth leader, trustee and a deaconess.

Josephine was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers-in laws David and Ronold Jacobs and nephew Eric Jacobs.

She is survived by her husband, a son James Jacobs and his wife Jan, sister-in-law Betty Ann Monahan of Goffstown and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
