K-9 teams sniff for drugs at Nute, find none

Staff Reports

MILTON - The Milton Police Department and Nute High School Administration along with two New Hampshire State Police K-9 teams and a K-9 team from the Middleton Police Department conducted an administrative drug search of the Milton Middle/High School campus on Thursday.

No illegal drugs were found during the search.

The Milton Police Department and Nute Middle/High School Administration have a zero tolerance approach towards drugs in the schools, an email from Nute Middle/High School noted on Thursday.

"We believe this will nurture an extremely positive learning environment for the students of our community," the email stated. "Students found with illegal drugs or selling illegal drugs on school property could face both criminal charges and school sanctions. Adults or staff found with illegal drugs on school property could face both criminal charges and employment sanctions."

Administrators were immediately unavailable today to confirm whether a specific drug worry prompted the search.
