ROCHESTER - Kathleen "Kathy" Lee Chapman, 67, of Rochester, died peacefully on Thursday Jan. 7 with her son by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Jan. 17 in Rochester the daughter of John "Jack" & Eva Waterhouse. She was a 1971 graduate of Spaulding High School.

Kathy leaves her close work family at Eye Logic in Somersworth where she was employed as an optician.

The last year of her life she resided with her ex-husband, the father of her two children, Wayne Phillips and his wife Bonnie, who selflessly cared for her and encouraged her during her fight with cancer. She passed in the comfort of their home.

Before diagnosis she enjoyed playing bingo with Bonnie, meeting new people at the American Legion with her sister Kim and her partner Skip, and she always enjoyed creating any kind of mischief she and her lifelong friend Kathy Merrill could find.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt & sister and a most beloved member of our family. She created a legacy of unselfish kindness, energy and friendship with all who knew her.

The widow of William "Bill" Chapman she is survived by her daughter Lynda Phillips of Rochester. Her son James "Luke" Phillips and his wife Linda Mathieu-Phillips of Winchester.

She is also survived by her siblings Terry (Joanne) Waterhouse, Vickie Cook, Sherry (Lena) Waterhouse and Kimberly Wallace (Skip Leclerc). Her grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephanie, Stephen & Jake.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, her brother John Waterhouse & brother in law James Cook.
