ROCHESTER - Kathryn Bell (Kathy) Oxford died on Jan. 26, 2023, of complications due to a recent surgery at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born August 03, 1944, to Robert and Ella Bell in Exeter, she grew up the oldest of seven children in Kittery, Maine. She graduated from Traip Academy in Kittery and McIntosh College.

Kathy was a kind and gentle soul. Charming, outgoing and friendly she made fast and enduring relationships wherever she lived. Although reserve in some ways she had a fun and mischievous side to her which was more than evident when she got together with her sisters. The Bell sisters are ridiculous in the best of ways and her participation was only encouraged by her fun-loving nature. The tales of sisterly pranks on each other, friends and acquaintances are too many to mention. She knew how to have fun and her bond with her sisters was enduring and fulfilling. If laughs alone were the measure of her life she lived a bountiful one.

Kathy was a dedicated employee and had a tremendous work ethic. She worked as an administrative assistant for several attorneys throughout her career on the west and east coasts. She was also the administrative assistant at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in the Heart and Lung Center until she retired in 2015.

Kathy is predeceased by her older sister Susan, who passed as an infant, her mother Ella Bell, and father Robert Bell. She is survived by her companion George Boyle and good friend Joanne Boyle. Her son Shawn and Jen Oxford, daughter Stacy and Brian Pulisciano, daughter Jodi Oxford, sisters Sandra Daskoski (Robert), Linda Jellison (Duane), Roberta Thomas ( Alan), Nancy Kingsbury ( Dan), Kimberly Bell, and brother Robert Bell. Grammy loved her grandchildren and doted over their accomplishments whether scholastically or on the athletic fields. She spent many days on the sidelines cheering on her grandkids and great grandkids. Grandchildren: Willem, Liam, Brenden, Michael, Mathew, DJ, Austin, Brandon, Justin, and her only granddaughter Veda. She adored all her grandkids, but as her only granddaughter Veda held a special place in her heart. William Oxford (Glen Diaz), ex-husband, had a special relationship that went beyond marriage and the rearing of their three kids. Kathy had a large extended family and many close friends.

The family is grateful for all the wonderful care she received from physicians and ICU staff during her extensive hospitalization. She will indeed be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
