ROCHESTER - Shelves at the Lilac Mall Hannaford and supermarkets around the state continue to be thin on pasta products due to the war in Ukraine, one of the store's managers said today.

It's a problem plaguing U.S. supermarket chains nationwide, they added.

China is the top producer of wheat, but Russia is the largest exporter. Russia and Ukraine account for growing almost 14 percent of the world's wheat.

Other grocery items affected by Ukraine and other supply issues include wheat products including cereal, baby formula, Sriracha sauce, popcorn, pet food, chocolate and tampons, according to cnet.com
