FARMINGTON - Laurence K. "Larry" Brown, 96, a former longtime resident of Farmington, died Friday, June 22, 2018 at Hawthorne House in Freeport, Maine. Born September 29, 1921 in Farmington, a son of Ira S. and Mildred (Knox) Brown, he resided most of his life there.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. Larry was a retired Motor Coach Operator with Continental Trailways, a recipient of the "Million Mile Safety Award".
A parishioner of St. Peter Church in Farmington, he was a former custodian there for 25 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Larry was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar, piano, organ and banjo, formerly playing with a band on the local radio.
Widower of the late Bertha I. (Gaudreault) Brown, he is survived by their children Laurence K. Brown, Jr., Gail Merrill, Pamela Merrill, Linda Brown, Karen Russell, Denise Brennan, Michelle Brown; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sons Kevin and Charles and a brother Marshall Brown.
