EAST ROCHESTER - A Lebanon man was arrested for drunken driving on Thursday night after he allegedly left the scene of an accident and was tracked down by a Rocheser K9 unit in a wooded area of South Lebanon.

Daniel Casey, 41, of River Road in Lebanon, was charged with misdemeanor DUI and conduct after an accident.

Police say they got the call around 9 p.m. and upon arrival at the scene on Main Street, learned that a Toyota Tercel had failed to negotiate the corner, left the roadway and struck the guide wire for a utility pole.

Bystanders said the occupant of the vehicle fled on foot before police arrived.

Officer Mackenzie and his K-9 partner, Daisy, were able to track Casey to a wooded area of Lebanon where he was taken into custody. Casey was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital by EMS for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

The vehicle suffered extensive front-end damaged and was towed.

Casey was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail with an arraignment scheduled next month in Rochester District Court.
