Lebanon man faces arrest in Farmington theft

FARMINGTON, N.H. - Farmington Police are close to issuing an arrest warrant for a Lebanon man they say stole a woman's purse then dragged her behind his vehicle when she sought to resist.

The incident began Sunday around 8:30 p.m. when Farmington police were called to the Beaver Pond Campground for a woman who was injured after being dragged by a vehicle, according to a press release from the Farmington Fire Department. Police say Tyler Emery, 22, of Lebanon, grabbed the purse of the 24-year-old woman after seeing cash in it and tried to drive off with the purse in a black SUV.

The victim was dragged for about 40 feet and run over after she attempted to retrieve her purse from the vehicle, police say.

She suffered bruises and scrapes to her body and was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester where she was treated and released, police said.

Emery is expected to be charged with robbery and reckless conduct, both felony charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
