DOVER - The trial of a Lebanon, Maine, man accused of sex assault on a minor is set to begin next month.

David A. Shaw, 48, of 294 Lower Guinea Road, was indicted in January on two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault of a minor under the age of 13 that allegedly occurred in Barrington sometime between August 2015 and August 2016, according to court records.

A final pretrial was held on Thursday paving the way for a jury trial set to begin on Oct. 3, Assistant County Attorney Tim Sullivan said on Friday.

The indictments, handed down on Jan. 19, allege a pattern of sexual assault.

If convicted on both counts, Shaw could be sentenced up to 60 years in state prison.
