SANFORD, Maine - A Lebanon teenager was arrested by Sanford Police on Tuesday after he is said to have discharged a firearm illegally from a Mount Hope Road apartment building.

Jake O. Weiser, 19, of 86 Fall Road, Lebanon, was charged with reckless conduct after police say he discharged a 12-gauge shotgun too close to a dwelling.

Weiser, who was on bail from an unrelated charge, was also charged with violating conditions of release and several drug charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and two additional counts of unlawful possession of scheduled narcotics.

Weiser was also charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm within 100 yards of a residence.

Sanford Deputy Chief Tim Strout said police responded around 2:30 p.m. for a report of “shots fired,” but was unsure what, if anything, Weiser may have been targeting.
