Lebanon toys program has another good year

The Lebanon Fire Department’s Toys for Lebanon Kids Program takes donations of gifts along with money and uses these donations to fill the applications submitted by parents.

Households range from one to six children, and this year the department distributed packages to one 152 children from 58 families.

The department tries to give age appropriate gifts for the children listed on these applications equally ranging in four to six gifts for each child.

These gifts are not wrapped and placed in bags so that the parents can sort and wrap them to give to their children on Christmas.

In 1996 when the Lebanon Fire Department started the program it was called “Toys for Tots”; in 2009 the program was renamed “Toys for Lebanon Kids” to prevent any confusion with the program sponsored by the United States Marines.

This program has brought joy and happiness to many children over the last 17 years.
