Hurricane Lee's expected impact on the Northern Seacoast has changed little since Friday, with 40-60 mph gusts expected to arrive around noon today, according to Accuweather maps..
The wind field extends out some 300 miles from the tropical storm's center.
It's impacts on the currently running Granite State Fair are yet to be seen, but if the winds arrive as anticipated and are as strong as forecast, it could likely affect performances by Circus Hollywood scheduled for today.
According to fair organizers, the circus is to be held outside rather than inside the giant tent.
Meteorologist Maura Casey of the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, told The Rochester Voice on Friday that Greater Rochester residents should prepare like they would for any strong nor'easter, because the 45 mph gusts expected throughout much of today are enough to cause significant tree damage and power outages.
She said while rain will be sporadic with little impacts, a combination of wind gusts and soil saturated from a summer of rain, tree damage could be severe and lead to power outages.
She said the strongest winds should arrive by noon today and then very gradually dissipate through the afternoon, during which the winds will shift from the northwest to westerly.
Wind gusts of up to 28 mph are predicted by 8 a.m. today and should increase till the early afternoon hours.
Lee is expected to make landfall in Nova Scotia with the potential of 100 mph winds. Bar Harbor, Maine, could see similar winds.

The good news is Sunday will be spectacular with plenty of sun and a high of 80.
