ROCHESTER - Leo Eugene "Gene" LaBonte, 80, formerly of Laural Estates in Rochester where he lived for 15 years, died Sunday December 25, 2016, at the Rochester Manor after a long illness
Born September 28, 1936, in Gonic, N.H. He was the son of the late Leo F and Marjorie (Horne) LaBonte.
Leo is a lifelong resident of Rochester. He served in the Navy and later joined the National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 7 in Rochester Victory Club and a past member of the Rochester Elks. When his children were younger he was involved with the Rochester youth hockey program.
Members of his family include his sons, Thomas LaBonte of Sanford Maine and Todd LaBonte of Rochester N.H.; his daughters, Lisa Crossan Watson and her husband Roger of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Kimberly Perkins and her husband Robert of Rochester; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and a stepbrother, Robert Morrison.
He was predeceased by his stepmother Alice LaBonte, a sister, Nancy Williams, and a grandson, Chad Crossan.
