ROCHESTER - Residents and businesses are invited to join in thanking members of the Rochester Police Department during the annual "Let's Paint the City Blue" day on Sept. 19.

Folks can show their support by hanging a ribbon or bow in their front yard on a tree or on your mailbox, replacing a porch light bulb with a blue one or stringing blue Christmas lights on a small tree or shrub.

A community group including the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Rochester Rotary Club, Holy Rosary Credit Union, Rochester Elks, Rochester Main Street and Groen Construction has purchased a limited number of bows, blue light bulbs, battery-operated blue light strings, window clings and yard signs for distribution.
