PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Lewis E. McKay, Jr. "Louie", of Palm Beach Gardens, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 of complications from Alzheimer's. He was born October 12, 1936 in Rochester, N.H.
He moved to South Florida in 1968 from Dover, N.H., and founded Dolphin Tire Company, which he ran for 42 years. Dolphin Tire Co. became a landmark at the corner of the Beeline Hwy and Military Trail in Riviera Beach. Most will remember him as the big guy with the big cigar.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Jill; and sons Shawn, of Dover and Mike of Palm Beach Gardens.
Louie belonged to many organizations over the years including NTDRA (National Tire Dealers); Moose; Elks, Am Vets; American Legion; Kiwanis and Phi Delta Kappa fraternity, of which he served as National President in 1983 and he was given the title of EMIR.
