DOVER - A longtime Rochester transient saw his armed robbery charges dropped during a status hearing on Monday at Strafford County Superior Court.
Evan Post, 34, with an address listed as "Homeless" on his August indictment, had three other charges against him also "dismissed without prejudice."
According to the September indictment, Post committed the armed robbery in Dover on June 23 when he "did purposely use physical force on (a victim) by grabbing (him) by the neck with Post's hand" while committing a theft.
The felony armed robbery charge is listed as a Class A felony punishable by up to 15 years in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Other charges that weren't listed on the indictment that were dismissed include criminal contempt, resisting arrest and simple assault, Assistant County Attorney Patrick Conroy said on Monday.
Post's hearing on Monday had been listed as "Re: Competency," but Conroy refused comment on the court's daily docket notation.
Post, who is known for his aggressive panhandling, was the first person to be arrested under Rochester's panhandler ordinance in November 2015.
He is frequently noted on Rochester's police logs for arrests on disorderly conduct and criminal trespass charges.
