GONIC - Lorraine M. (Grammy) Theroux, 91, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Rochester Manor in Rochester after a period of failing health.
Lorraine was born in Gonic, N.H. on March 18, 1923, the daughter of Paul and Alexina (Lacroix) Gourgue and was a lifelong resident of Gonic. Before her retirement she worked at the Gonic Mill for many years retiring from General Electric in Somersworth, N.H. after seventeen years. She was a communicant of St. Leo's Church in Gonic, N.H., a member of the Emblem Club of Rochester, N.H. and the Lion's Club of Somersworth, N.H. She was the widow of Emile Theroux who died in 1970, and was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert Rheaume, and three brothers, Leo Paul Gourgue, Maurice Gourgue and Robert Gourgue.
Surviving members of the family include: one son, Albert Theroux of Gonic, N.H., two daughters, Patricia Moody and her husband Ronald and Claire Rheaumeall of Rochester, N.H., four grandchildren, David Theroux of Milton, N.H., Janice Tilton and her husband Steve of Rochester, N.H., Jacob Rheaume of Rochester, N.H. and Emilee Rheaume of Alabama, three great-grandchildren, Christopher Tilton of Vt., Daniel Tilton of Rochester, N.H. and Charles Haywood Trippe IV of Alabama. She also leaves a special godchild, Cynthia Giguere of Gonic, N.H. as well as several nieces, nephew and cousins. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the entire staff at the Gafney Home for the care given to our mother for nearly 2 ½ years.
