ANTHONY FOGLIO (27 y.o.) from Waterboro was sentenced this week to almost 6 years in federal prison on firearm violations. Tpr. Jeremy Forbes began an investigation into FOGLIO last year when an informant advised that FOGLIO was buying and selling guns in the York County area. FOGLIO is a convicted felon and can’t possess firearms.  

9-10-13 Tpr. David Coflesky and Tpr. Kyle Wells stopped a vehicle on Mt. Hope Road in Sanford for a defective brake light. Further investigation led to (15) missing Oxycodone from a prescription that had just been filled prior to the vehicle being stopped. Consent to search the vehicle was denied. Troopers towed the vehicle from the scene and applied for a search warrant on the vehicle. Once the warrant was signed, Troopers searched the vehicle and located a black lockbox inside of a backpack that the operator claimed was his. Inside of the lockbox was a digital scale, a razor blade, a snorting straw, an SD card, (1) 30mg Adderall, (5) 15mg oxycodone, and several crushed oxycodone inside of a pill crusher. The operator, ROBERT CORSON (25 y.o.) of Rochester, NH was charged with felony possession of a scheduled drug.  In the vehicle at the time of the stop was CRAIG WIGGINS (36 y.o.) also of Rochester, NH.  Initially WIGGINS had given his brother CORY’S  name and DOB to Tpr. Coflesky.  A check of COREY’S information revealed that he was wanted for probation revocation out of Texas.  When WIGGINS was advised of the Texas warrant he came clean about his identity and it was found that CRAIG WIGGINS had 3 active warrants out of Maine.  During transport to the York County Jail WIGGINS gave up the location of his brother, the US Marshall’s Service was contacted through Tpr. Jeremy Forbes and CORY WIGGINS was subsequently arrested in Exeter, NH.  

9-16-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells summonsed LYNN BROWN (32 y.o.) of Porter for OAS following a traffic stop on High Street in Sanford. BROWN was stopped for no inspection sticker.

9-16-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells charged ROBERT FRANKLIN (25 y.o.) of Boston, MA with Operating without a license following a traffic stop on Main Street in Sanford. FRANKLIN was stopped for a seatbelt violation.

9-18-13 Tpr. Adam Schmidt received a Burglary complaint that had taken place on River Rd. in Lebanon.  Access was gained to the residence through an unlocked second story window.  The other windows and doors to the residence were locked.  Approximately $11,755.00 in stolen items were reported.  Investigation is continuing.

9-18-13 Tpr. Adam Schmidt was running traffic in Lebanon.  Tpr. Schmidt stopped a vehicle for a headlight defect.  A passenger in the vehicle was identified as ADAM SMITH (26 y.o.) of Rochester, NH.  SMITH had an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines.  SMITH was arrested and transported to York County Jail.  

9-20-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells was traveling northbound on I95 in Wells when he observed a vehicle traveling in the far right hand lane with an obstructed view. Tpr. Wells initiated a traffic stop for the violation. Tpr. David Coflesky arrived on scene to assist. Tpr. Wells contacted the passenger of the truck, while Tpr. Coflesky met with the operator. The passenger did not provide any identification and when asked for his name, date of birth and last four digits of his social security number, the passenger became very nervous and would not provide a name. Tpr. Coflesky recognized the passenger from previously arresting him. The male was later identified as GENE DARES (35 y.o.) of Biddeford. DARES had (4) active warrants and was out on bail. Tpr. Wells searched DARES incident to arrest and located a syringe containing heroin in his front pocket. DARES was transported to York county jail where he was charged with Unlawful Possession of Heroin and VCR, both of which are Class C felonies.

9-21-13 Tpr. Jeremy Forbes arrested a CYNTHIA SWAN (33 y.o.) of  Sanford on a theft warrant from the Biddeford Police Department. 

9-22-13 Tpr. Kyle Wells responded to a rollover crash on River Road in the town of Lebanon. The driver, DAVID PENNELL (36 y.o.) of Rochester, NH was traveling at a high rate of speed when he went off the road and struck a telephone pole. Both PENNELL and his passenger were transported to Frisbee Hospital with minor injuries. It was later determined that PENNELL had consumed alcohol and was charged with OUI.

9-22-13 Tpr. Adam Schmidt responded to an abandoned motor vehicle crash in Alfred.  The vehicle was registered to SAMANTHA CARAMIHALIS (21 y.o.) of Aflred.  CARAMIHALIS admitted to driving the vehicle and leaving the scene.  CARAMIHALIS was summonsed for Failure to Notify owner of property damage and Failure to Report an accident by quickest means.  CARAMIHALIS was also issued a VSAC for Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle.  

Sgt. Burke participated in a week of Tactical Team training in the Piscataquis County region between 09-16 until 09-21.  Members spent the week working on firearms and tactics proficiency.
