ROCHESTER - A Barrington man was arrested on Wednesday for driving under the influence after an officer saw him speeding and screeching his tires as he approached a stop sign on Flat Rock Bridge Road.

Timothy Siderchuk, 20, was also cited for misuse of plates, driving an uninspected vehicle and misuse of power (screeching tires), a city ordinance.

Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said the arrest was made after an officer traveling on Milton Road saw Siderchuk's vehicle coming off the connector and approaching at a high rate of speed.

As the vehicle approached the stop sign, the driver locked up the brakes, causing the vehicle to skid a short distance before coming to a stop, Pinkham explained.

During the traffic stop, which included a field sobriety test, it was learned the vehicle did not have a valid inspection sticker, did not have a proper registration plate and that the driver was intoxicated.
