Man arrested on habitual offender, open container charges after crash

ROCHESTER - A Dover man was arrested on habitual offender and open container charges following a Monday afternoon accident on Salmon Falls Road.
The accident occurred near Sullivan Farm Drive around 1:30 p.m. as the operator's vehicle was headed northbound, according to police.
According to dispatch notes, Good Samaritans help the occupants get out of the vehicle which ended up in the middle of the road, closing a portion of the road for a short period of time.
The operator of the vehicle, Jonathan D. Hoy, 36, of Ham Street, Dover, and a minor were transported to a local hospital for what were thought to be minor injuries.
After receiving treatment Hoy was arrested on felony habitual offender and misdemeanor open container charges.
A person is considered a habitual offender after committing a certain number of motor vehicle infractions in a given time period after which the state can revoke their driving privileges indefinitely.
