OSSIPEE - A Center Tuftonboro man is being held without bail in a shooting incident involving a Carroll County Sheriff's Deputy on Tuesday.
Nicholas Andrew Anderson, 28, is accused of attempted murder, attempted first-degree assault and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident which occurred around 11 a.m. in the area of Canaan Road in Tuftonboro.

According to press release sent Wednesday, the Sheriff's Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motor vehicle operated by Anderson, who was known to the deputy.
It was then alleged that Anderson got out of his vehicle and fired a round into the deputy's cruiser, the Union Leader reported today. He then fled to his Canaan Road residence prompting a multi-hour standoff before being taken into custody.

If anyone has additional information, they are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Kempes Corbally at (603) 223-8928 or Kempes.R.Corbally@dos.nh.gov.
