CONWAY - A 24-year-old man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman in Conway on Thursday.

Connor J. Macleod was arrested Friday morning in the killing of Alexis M. Leach, 23.

Police first got involved on Thursday around 11:30 p.m. when they responded to an apartment at the River Turn Woods complex at 36 Council Road, according to a press release from the Dept. of Safety sent out on Friday.

Upon entering the complex, officers encountered Connor Macleod, as well as Leach, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim later died from her wound at Memorial Hospital in Conway.

An autopsy conducted on Friday determined that Leach died from a gunshot wound to the neck and the manner of death was homicide.

Macleod was arrested on a charge of manslaughter.

He will be arraigned at a later date determined by the 3rd Circuit Court - District Division - Conway.
