Man's body found in Merrimack River; officials say foul play not involved

MANCHESTER - The body of a man was found in the Merrimack River under the Granite Street bridge in Manchester on Thursday.

The discovery occurred around 11:30 a.m. under the Granite Street bridge. Manchester Fire Department, Manchester Police and New Hampshire Marine Patrol responded to the scene.

At this time the incident is under investigation and foul play is not expected. The man's body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy and positive identification.
