Marilyn Jones ... active in city's historical district board; at 78

ROCHESTER - Marilyn K Jones of Rochester New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Monday March 16, 2026 in the evening with her family. Marilyn was born June 17, 1947, to Maxine and Boss Gothard of Bolivar, MO. She attended Bolivar High School and was active in the choir, stage and marching band. She was the drum majorette her senior year. She also accompanied soloists and group singers on the piano for regional and state competitions. After high school she enrolled in the graduate program at Burge Hospital where she graduated with a degree in XRAY Technology in 1967 and returned to Bolivar and prepared for her wedding to Jackson Jones on June 9, 1968. They moved to St. Louis before moving back home to Bolivar when Jack entered the Air Force. Their next move was to Ft. Worth where Jack was stationed at Carwell AFB 340 Bomb Group. Marilyn went on to complete her certification in Nuclear Medicine. She attended night school in Ft. Worth for more credit hours before enrolling in Texas Church University Interior Design program. Well, things changed as Jack was transferred to the Harris Corporation in Dover, NH. They made their new home in Rochester in 1981. Marilyn graduated from the University of New Hampshire in the winter of 1984 with a BA in Art History, before giving birth to their son, Wesley, who was born on April 8, 1985. Later on, she was working in real estate as well as serving on the Rochester Historical District Committee. She was also active in a local PEO Chapter and Questers. She leaves behind her husband Jack, son Wesley and wife Caitlin, grandsons Grady, Landon, Wyatt, Porter and Knox all of Mashpee, Cape Cod. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Methodist Church, Rochester, NH Steeple project.
