ROCHESTER - The Castle on Charles begins its spring lineup with a medieval wedding dinner show followed up with an eclectic mix of artists and genres for The Spring Music Series and other events.
This dinner show is called "The Wedding of The Century (17th Century!)" and runs for four weekend nights April 7 through 15 with a talented ensemble of period actors and singers in this funny, musical presentation, which is a sequel to the previous production of "The Queen's Gambit" that played last fall.
The play is served up amid a robust four-course, eat-with-your-hands dinner. Doors are open at 6:30 p.m., with tickets either $39 or $42. Including dinner and show.
Then the Spring Music Series Fridays begins on April 21 with an outstanding mix of gritty Americana, blues, roots, rhythm and rock. Doors open at 7 p.m. with acts performing from 8-11 p.m. from a new side stage.
Seating is at cabaret-style tables surrounding the stage making every seat close to the artists. This year draft beer will be available along with a small menu. There is a suggested artist contribution of $5. The band lineup is posted at The Castle's website, www.CaslteNH.com, where a season pass for the Spring Music Series is available for only $25!
The opening night brings a double billing with The Joshua Incident - a four-piece Americana and alt-country act - along with the Steve Roy duo performing acoustic bluegrass on April 21. Also coming this spring will be a colorful Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at The Castle on Friday, May 5 with a live Cuban band, a Mexican dinner buffet, dance lessons & performances, Margaritas, sangria, Mexican beer, Mexican humor and of course a piñata!
