MILTON - A Milton man was injured earlier this month when his car collided with a Strafford County SWAT vehicle returning from a Farmington shooting incident.
The crash occurred when a 1989 Honda Civic driven by Jason Slattery, 31, of Milton, was traveling southbound on Milton Road and crashed into the vehicle, known as a Bearcat.
Slattery was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital where he was treated for significant injuries. Slattery was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The occupants of the Bearcat were not injured.
The accident occurred on June 5 around 4:15 a.m. after the tactical support vehicle, called a Bearcat, assisted with a standoff involving a barricaded subject.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the Bearcat was parked outside a Milton Road residence conducting a tactical operation in which the lawmen had just taken a subject into custody after he had broken into a residence on Milton Road and shot the home owner. The tactical team was still in the process of securing the residence when the crash occurred, according to a State Police press release.
Slattery has since been released from Frisbie Memorial Hospital, a spokesman said today.
New Hampshire State Police Troop A was requested to assist the Farmington Police Department with the crash investigation, which remains open and is under the authority of Trooper Michelle Montville.
