Milton Memorial Day services set for 10 a.m. next Mon.

MILTON - Milton's Memorial Day services will begin at 10 a.m. on May 30 at the Milton American Legion Hall on Steeple Street.

Recitation of the Gettysburg Address will be by Nute High/Middle School eighth-grader Kylie Williamson.

The Speaker of the Day will be American Legion Post 61 Commander Dana Wilson.

The parade will begin on Steeple Street next to the American Legion and proceed down Dawson Street and across White Mountain Highway to Garage Way by the dam for a short memorial service for departed sailors.

The parade will then march north to Depot Pond Road, reverse direction and return to Milton Veterans Memorial Park for a brief service before returning to the American Legion to disband.

Musical selections will be performed by the Nute High/Middle School band.

The benediction will be said by Maureen Steer, the Invocation by Robert Walsh.

The parade drummer is Stanley Bank, with buglers David Barca and Stephen Steer.

Marshals of the Day include Wilson, Peter Hayward, Commander of VFW Post 8393, Milton; and Fred Guldbrandsen, Commander of VFW Post 7663, Union.
