MILTON - Milton Police warned residents to stay away from Mason Road Sunday night, saying there was "ongoing incident" they were dealing with.

Notice that the road was closed at both the Governors Road side and Tenerife Road was posted on the Milton Police Facebook page around 6 p.m.

Police asked Mason Road residents to shelter in place, noting, "If you live on Mason Road and are home please stay inside and lock your residence."

One social media post indicated the incident originated that the incident arose after a homeowner threatened a hunter after telling them to get off his property, however The Rochester Voice could not verify the post.

Four hours after the original post Milton Police updated the public on their Facebook page that the issue was resolved and the affected portion of the road was reopened.
