Staff Reports

ROCHESTER - A two-car crash on North Main Street Saturday evening left four injured and closed the road near downtown for a short time.

All four were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what police described as minor injuries.

Police responded to the accident around 7:30 p.m. and found a gray Honda Odyssey and a gray Jeep blocking the southbound lane of travel near the intersections of Walnut and Washington streets.

The driver and lone occupant of the Jeep, Rachel Matthews, 23, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., was out of the vehicle and walking around.  The driver of the Honda, Amy Johnson, 21, of 31 Main St., Milton Mills, along with her two passengers were also out of their vehicle.

Police found that Matthews failed to yield to oncoming traffic heading southbound on North Main Street as she pulled off of Washington Street.  She was summonsed for failing to yield.

Both vehicles suffered extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
