MILTON – Police say a Milton woman involved in a Remick Street assault in the early morning hours of April 5 was involved in a separate domestic assault earlier in the night.

Joyce McCassie , 49, of 23 Elm St., Apt. 8, allegedly forced the door open at an apartment at 6 Remick St., during the second incident. The door hit the victim in the face, police say, after which McCassie allegedly shoved the victim several times after entering the apartment. Police said the two individuals knew each other.

During the investigation police learned of the earlier incident at McCassie’s home in which she is accused of assaulting a family member.

McCassie was charged with simple assault in the incident at her residence, plus criminal trespass and simple assault in the Remick Street incident.

She was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail for the domestic case and on $3,500 personal recognizance bail in the Remick Street case. McCassie will be arraigned on the charges at Rochester District Court next month.
