NORTH BERWICK - More than 400 friends, colleagues and family members turned out to mourn the passing of longtime Lebanon Road Commissioner and lifetime Lebanon resident Larry Torno on Friday.

Johnson Funeral Home in North Berwick was packed with standing room only as mourners waited to pass through a family receiving line, said Jim Durgin, a longtime friend.

Meanwhile, at Town Offices the State of Maine flag flew at half-staff to honor Torno, who died last Saturday at the age of 62 of an untreatable form of cancer.

Services at Johnson Funeral Home concluded shortly at 5 p.m., after which a celebration of Torno's life was held at a Springvale social club.
