CONCORD - Fueled by two heavy days of positive test results reported on Saturday the cumulative number of New Hampshire COVID-19 infections marked another milestone, passing the 20,000 mark.
In all, 702 new positive test results were identified, including 417 on Thursday and 285 on Friday. Test results received Friday are still being processed and the total number of new positives for that day is not yet complete.
The newest numbers indicate that about 1.5 percent of New Hampshire's 1.3 million residents have contracted the coronavirus, that about 3 percent of those who contract the disease die and some 4 percent who contract the disease are hospitalized. Of course the latter two metrics will see their percentages go down the more people are tested.
So far only about one quarter of New Hampshire residents have been tested.
Of the cases with complete information, there are 65 minors and 35 from Strafford County.
Local current case numbers include 77 in Rochester, 51 in Dover, 31 in Somersworth, 18 in Farmington, 14 in Barrington, six in Milton and five in Straffrod.
DHHS has also announced six additional deaths related to COVID-19, all Granite Staters over 60.
There are currently 133 Granite Staters hospitalized with COVID-19.
