N.H. pair nabbed after fleeing alleged shoplifting

SANFORD, Maine - A New Hampshire pair were arrested on Saturday after Sanford Police say they stole DVDs from the Sanford Walmart and then tried to flee from police and store security personnel..

Olivia Steward, 35, of 36 Farmington Road, Apt. 3C8, Rochester (address according to Sanford Police log), and Stephen Willson, 23, of 36 Farmington Road, Apt. 3C8, Dover (address according to Sanford Police log), were both arrested shortly after police were called to the scene around 6 p.m.

Willson fled on foot when confronted by store security, said Sanford Police Chief Thomas Connolly Jr., who added the suspect was taken into custody in the vicinity of the Lowe's next door.
Steward, meanwhile, attempted to flee in a vehicle and struck another vehicle causing minor damage, Connolly said. A search revealed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Willson was charged with refusing to submit to arrest, refusal to stop and theft by unauthorized taking.

Steward was charged with theft by unauthorized taking, driving to endanger and possession of drug paraphernalia.
