CONCORD - Despite the continued surge in state coronavirus cases there was some great news today.

For the first time since the pandemic's initial surge in May the official death rate from the disease in New Hampshire has dropped to 3 percent, down from 5 percent six months ago. It is expected it will continue to drop as more Granite State residents are tested.

Meanwhile, DHHS announced 384 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Saturday. The new tests reflect a positivity rate of 2.4 percent and include 38 minors and 50 from Strafford County.

DHHS also announced no new hospitalizations and one death, a Sullivan County man over 60.
