ROCHESTER - The New Durham man charged in the fatal hit and run of a Rochester bicyclist has been indicted.
Jason Douglas, 23, of 28 Miller Road, New Durham, was charged with conduct after an incident for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident that killed Jeffery Howarth back in May.
Howarth, 51, was struck while riding his bicycle in the area of Route 11 and the Spaulding Turnpike southbound onramp in Rochester. His body was seen by a passing driver around 12:30 a.m. on May 6, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene by responding Frisbie medical personnel.

Douglas was allegedly driving a Dodge Ram pickup at the time of the incident. If convicted he faces up to seven years in state prison.
Douglas' next court date is an arraignment in Strafford County Superior court in January.
The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down Dec. 17 and released on Tuesday.
