No charges yet in Maine shooting that left one dead, one wounded

VALLASBORO, Maine - Maine State Police continue to investigate a shooting that left one man dead and another man injured inside an apartment building in Vassalboro on Monday, but as of today no charges had been filed.

The shooting took place around 9:10 a.m. in the hallway of the building. Several people were inside the building when an argument started between two of the building's residents, police say. All of the people inside the building have been interviewed and are cooperating with the investigation.

Dead in the shooting was 37-year-old Jeremy Gilley of Vassalboro. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's Office has determined the death a homicide. Wounded was 30-year-old Joshua Bilodeau of Vassalboro, who was also shot; he is recovering at a local hospital.

Police have yet to identify the third male who was involved in the incident.

State Police Detectives will consult with the Kennebec District Attorneys office and the Maine Attorney General's office on whether any charges may be brought forward.
