'Not only did they mow us over, they plowed us under'

LEBANON - The rematch softball game between Gilpatrick Property Services and the Lebanon Fire Department was held on Sunday at the Lebanon Little League Field at high noon, but the showdown proved to be a lopsided affair.

The fire department was looking to avenge a loss on Aug. 4, but their effort fell short.

After 8 ½ innings, Gilpatrick graciously conceded the game with the score Gilpatrick 40-Lebanon 12.

“Not only did they mow us over, they plowed us under,” a Lebanon Fire press release said.

As always, this was all in good fun, of course.

Lebanon Fire said they wanted to thank everyone who showed up to cheer both teams on and also Troy Graffon for donating his time to umpire the game and the Lebanon Little League for letting them use the field.

There reportedly are already talks under way about a rematch next year.
