ROCHESTER - Janet Gray, 71, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at her home.
Born in Dover April 2, 1942, the daughter of A. Malcolm and Helen (Bateman) Gray, she was a 1960 graduate of Dover High School. A longtime resident of Dover she had also lived in Hudson, Manchester Amherst and Boston, and moved to Rochester in 2002.
She was a 25-year employee of the Telephone Co. and had been Verizon's staff manager in Boston for 12-years at the time of her retirement in 1990. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Janet was a loving and caring mother and enjoyed socializing with friends, many of whom worked with her at the phone company.
She was predeceased by a son Alan S. Palmer who died in 1977 and is survived by a son William R. Palmer, Jr. of Rochester, a sister Nancy Cordeiro of Rochester, two brothers Kenneth Gray and his wife Jean of York, Maine, and Wallace Gray and his wife Pam of Dover, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a brother A. Malcolm Gray, Jr.
