ROCHESTER - Samuel F. Pendleton Jr., 83, of Rochester died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation of Dover, N.H.

He was born July 10, 1930, in Mineola, N.Y., a son of Samuel and Lillian (Boucher) Pendleton and had resided in Portsmouth for almost 27 years, living also in York, Maine, before moving to Rochester in 1989.

He was an Army veteran having served during Korea.

Sam had worked as a general foreman of the power plant at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before his retirement.

The widower of Winnifred (Foster) Pendleton who died June 7, 2013, members of his family include his daughter, Bonnie Cunningham and her husband, Paul of East Wakefield; his son, Samuel F. Pendleton, III of Naples, Florida; two grandsons, James Welch of Lebanon, Maine, and Nathan Pendleton of Naples; and several nieces and nephews.
