Foster's publication of accusations by a Democrat rep from Rochester who said he was infected with COVID by Republicans at a recent House session was specious at best ... and scurrilous at worst.

Yes, Chuck Grassie was at the House session held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Manchester last week, but there is no - absolutely none - zilch proof that he was infected by unmasked Republicans, who were at all times kept 12-15 feet away from their masked Democrat counterparts.

Fact is one Republican rep said he saw Grassie eating at a restaurant that very same day sitting shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of colleagues and friends.

So for the Foster's to let him spout off about the dangers of maskless Republicans shrieks of far left demagoguery.

Maybe the Foster's is looking for some Meta money from Facebook, which is pouring money into the newspaper and digital journalism field in a foray to influence the once-noble profession.

Maybe the powers that be at Foster's think they're instruments of the Democrat party instead of their readers.

It's ludicrous to believe that Grassie was likely infected by Republicans when House Speaker Sherm Packard made sure they had separate bathroom facilities, separate entrances and special HEPA air filtration systems in place to keep them as safe as possible.

It's more likely Grassie might have caught it at a supermarket, a drug store or other retail establishment where anyone can see that a majority of Granite Staters - tired of government overreach - are going without masks!

But no, the Foster's let's him spread what is likely disinformation with impunity. Is this journalism ... or a witch hunt?

Meanwhile, White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, himself, admitted "everybody" is going to get infected with the Omicron variant, which includes the fully vaxed and boosted like Grassie it.

So how and why would Foster's let Grassie leverage them into publishing such drivel?

You'll have to ask them.
