One dead, one seriously injured in Rochester rollover

ROCHESTER - State Police are reporting a fatal crash occurred on Friday near exit 15 of the Spaulding Turnpike.

The single-car rollover crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. when the vehicle exited the roadway on the southbound side and rolled down an embankment.

According to State Police, two people were in the vehicle, with one ejected who was Medflighted to Maine Medical Center.

The occupant found inside the vehicle succumbed at the scene.

Speed has not been ruled out as a possible factor.

Part of the Spaulding near the crash site was closed for several hours while accident reconstruction teams worked the scene.

Neither of the victims had been identified as of this report.
