One man dead, one injured in Lebanon crash

LEBANON, Maine - A man died on Friday night after his pickup rolled over on Center Road, according to Lebanon Fire and EMS.

Responders were called out around 8:30 p.m. for a single-vehicle crash in the area of 1003 Center Road.

The first Lebanon responder on scene reported that the vehicle was a pickup truck which had rolled over. There were two occupants in the vehicle, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene by an on-duty paramedic. The second occupant, a male, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Frisbee Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Ron Jones, a renowned local musician, was the passenger in the pickup and is OK, according to a Facebook post by Teri Poirier, organizer of the Fourth Annual Green Love Festival, where Jones is a featured performer. The festival, which celebrates the medicinal value of cannabis, began on Friday and runs through Sunday.

The vehicle was not far from Poirier's Center Road farm when the accident occurred.

In a Facebook post this morning, Poirier said she didn't believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, but believed heavy rain and poor visibility may have contributed to the tragedy.

She also said that Jones was treated and released and is resting at home.

The deceased man's name has not been released.

Center Road was reduced to one lane while crews and State Police worked to clear the scene and reconstruct the accident. This story will be updated.
