ROCHESTER - An arrest warrant has been issued for a Somersworth woman in the theft of several books from the Rochester Public Library in March.

If found, Amber Wetzel, 24, with a last known address of 439 Route 108, Apt. #4 in Somersworth, will be charged with theft from a building and criminal trespass.

Both charges are Class B misdemeanors, police say. The trespass charge is because Wetzel had previously been issued a trespass notice from the library stating she wasn't allowed there, Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau said today.

He added that Wetzel is not believed to still live at the Somersworth address.

She and another as yet unidentified woman are said to have stolen 11 books between them, one of them allegedly taking out some of those books in her purse.

The alleged theft took place in mid-March and featured thefts of both fiction and nonfiction books including several with metaphysical themes such as Encyclopedia of Astrology, The Witch's Shield and Dictionary of Dream Symbols.

Boudreau said an alarm went off when the pair left, and officials later viewed video of the two women entering the library.
