MILTON - The individual at Nute Junior High who tested positive for COVID will be able to return to class on Wednesday, according to Nute Jr. Sr. High Principal Jan Radowicz.

Radowicz said today that the person is not being identified due to privacy concerns. She said they went home sick on Oct. 5, but weren't identified as positive till Oct. 8. The "Cohort," or group they were associated with was placed on quarantine, while everyone else continued their hybrid, part remote, part inschool learning as they have since the academic year began. The cohort that was affected comprised just 16 individuals.

Virus cases have been few and far between so far this school year with isolated area infections occurring at Barrington Middle School that reported a case on Sept. 11, Spaulding High School that reported a case on Sept. 16 and William Allen Elementary School that reported a case on Friday.

Meanwhile, DHHS announced 71 new positive test results for COVID-19, including 14 under the age of 18 and three from Strafford County.

Two new hospitalized cases were reported for a current total on 19.
