Owner of dog reportedly tossed from car sought

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are on the hunt for a suspect who reportedly threw a dog from the window of their car on Wednesday.

A female pit bull was allegedly tossed from the vehicle in the vicinity of Norway Plains Road.

According to a post on the Police Department's Facebook page, the vehicle from which the dog was thrown is possible a dark-colored Cadillac.

The pit bull appears to have recently given birth to puppies, and is thin with several scratches.

Nevertheless she appears to be in decent shape and is being held in a police facility under the care of a local veterinarian.

Tipsters who may know the dog or its previous owner are asked to contact the city's Animal Control Officer at 603-330-7122.
