ROCHESTER, N.H. - Paul E. Blanchette, 83, of 76 Tradewinds Lane died Thursday March 19, 2015 at Riverside Rest Home after a period of failing health.
He was born Dec. 26, 1931 in Biddeford, Maine, the son of Albert and Rose (Bouchard) Blanchette. He proudly served in the Navy from 1948-1953. Paul has resided in this area most of his life and worked in the shoe business at Benjamin Walk Co., Dover Shoe, Somersworth Shoe, Roberts and Hubbard Shoe. Paul also worked for the Rochester Fire Dept. and was the Unions first president. He was a past Exaulted Ruler for the Elks Lodge 1393 and enjoyed attending conventions and being an active officer. He was also a past member of the Rochester Moose Club. He loved playing with his great-grandchildren.
Members of his family include his wife of 64 years, Evelyn Evans Blanchette, Rochester, N.H.; sons, Glenn and Robin of Virginia., Donald and fiancée Kathy Coffin of Rochester, N.H., Thomas and Lisa of Sanford, Maine. daughters, Cheryl Perron, Paulynn Allen, Susan St. Cyr, Elaine and Edward Gorham, all of Rochester, N.H.; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Blanchette, Rochester, Rudy Blanchette, Ocala, Florida. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son-in-laws, George Perron, Peter Allen and Dennis St. Cyr.
