Paul R. Veilleux ... enjoyed umpiring youth sports

ROCHESTER - Paul R. Veilleux, 83, of Chestnut Hill Road, died on August 25, 2020 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

Born July 29, 1937 in Biddeford, Maine, to Honore and Angela (Roberge) Veilleux.

Paul was a resident of Rochester for the past 60 years. He earlier lived in Kittery, Maine, where he graduated from Traip Academy in 1956. After high school he served in the Navy during peace time and later worked for the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard until his retirement in 1995.

He was a parishioner at St Mary's Church in Rochester, an active and caring member of the Rochester Elk's Lodge #1393 and the AM VETS and was a board member of Rochester Athletic Association. He enjoyed his time being an umpire at Roger Allen Baseball Park, Rochester Babe Ruth Field as well as coached women's softball in the McClelland and Key Fields. He enjoyed watching and cheering for his sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all sports and providing helpful knowledge and experience whenever possible. Paul`s love for these sports programs carried over into retirement, where he spent his later years doing grounds and maintenance work at the Roger Allen Park.

Paul lived and loved his family, supportive and caring for each and everyone. Members of his family include his wife of 62 years, Betty (Hersom) Veilleux of Rochester, his sons; Scott Veilleux of Barrington, Brian Veilleux and his wife Marshella of Gustine Calif., his two daughters; Kim Trepanier and her husband Mario of Rochester, Sharon Woodward of New Hampton, and her partner Cal Caveney of Northfield. His 6 grandsons, Brandon Rutherford and his wife Catherine, Ryan Trepanier and his wife Brandie, Eric and his partner Jessica Keravich, Dan Trepanier and his wife Courtney, Matthew and Jonah Veilleux. 8 great grandchildren, Ewan, Hayden & Greyson Rutherford, Elise, Brynn, Ashlynn, Lucas & Thomas Trepanier who brought so much joy to his life. He surpassed his brothers; Conrad Veilleux and his wife Patricia of Kittery and Donald Veilleux and his wife Eleanor of Sacramento Calif.

He was predeceased by his grandson Adam Trepanier and great granddaughter, Isabella Rutherford.
