ROCHESTER - Pella Windows of Doors held a ceremonial groundbreaking at the site of their new distribution center where building is already under way.
The 32,000 square foot facility at 102 Airport Drive will be used as a distribution point for windows and doors headed for installation in New Hampshire and Maine, said David Hadley, owner and CEO of Pella of New England.
He said the facility is expected to be fully operational by October with a full complement of 55 employees.
Hadley credited Mike Scala and Jenn Marsh of Rochester's Economic Development Department for helping him navigate the process of building the facility inside the Granite State Business Park.
"This building going up has a beautiful design and it will have outstanding funtionality," Hadley said. "And I want to thank everybody with the city of Rochester that helped make it so easy."
Echoing the city's business friendly mantra, Scala said, "I'm glad you chose Rochester."
"Pella is a company known for innovation and exceeding expectations and we'd like to thank you for choosing Rochester for this new endeavor," added Rochester Mayor Elaine Lauterborn.
