The Milton Summer Kickoff is set for this weekend with some of the hottest temps of the year expected for the return of the South Shore Speed Boat Competition.

Each year participants come from all over New England to race with championship standings on the line.

Milton Summer Kickoff is hosted at the Milton Town Beach and will have a variety of events besides the boat races.

There will be lots of vendors and food kiosks as well as charitable raffles benefiting different organizations and fundraising efforts.

There is no fee to participate, but any/all donations to the recreation department are gratefully accepted. There is a gate fee to access the property ($5.00 donation per vehicle) requested with all proceeds going to the running of the event and to the Town of Milton Summer Arts Festival.

The Granite State Street Hot Rodders will host a club car show on Sunday.

Other attractions during the two-day event include "Touch-a-Truck," and various entertainment options.
