ROCHESTER - Rochester Police reported on Friday they have received more than a dozen fireworks complaints in the last couple of weeks, and since the 4th of July weekend is approaching, want everyone to know the pyrotechnics are in violation of a city ordinance except on July 3 and July 4 with a city permit.

Under Rochester City Ordinance Chapter 75, "No display of permissible fireworks shall be permitted within the City except between the hours of 6-11 p.m. on those two evenings."

Residents who want to have fireworks on those two nights must apply to the city for a permit.
